Well, first of all let me just say a big thank you to all the people who have favourited the last batch of photos I uploaded. Your support is very welcome! I just hope that we have some decent weather here this year so that I can get a few more pictures like those for you all to see.

Now, if there's one thing that a lack of money does for you, it makes you learn how to amuse yourself doing things that don't cost you any money (stop sniggering, THAT is only one of the options!). Due to my current financial woes I faced that kind of dilemma yesterday and came to the conclusion that going for a walk around the local countryside with my camera in tow was a good idea. The fact that it was the first properly sunny day in weeks might also have had a hand in shaping my decision. So, armed with my trusty camera bag and newly updated playlist on my ipod, off I went.
I honestly didn't think I would end up taking as many photos as I did. For the first time in a long time I actually ran out of space on my memory card. And while I did manage to get some cool pictures (most of which have been posted here and on flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/sponge2292), after sorting through the images I'd captured I came to a couple of realisations. The first is that I have an (obvious) obsession with ducks and waterfowl in general... But then, who doesn't like ducks?
The second realisation was that I am desperately in need of a new camera. The one I have now has served me faithfully for the last few years and eacaped unharmed from more than a few knocks and scrapes, but it is showing its age now. But that brings me back to the whole lack of cash thing. No cash means no new camera! So for now I shall have to manage as best I can until I can get some more income flowing into my bank account. At that point I will need to drive myself insane thinking over which of the many, MANY cameras I could go with to replace my current one... Oh, decisions, decisions!
